α-L-Arabinofuranosidase(α-L-Af) Assay Kit

α-L-Arabinofuranosidase (α-L-Af) belongs to the glycoside hydrolase family. It can hydrolyze the non-reducing ends of polymers containing arabinose residues (such as arabinoxylans, arabans, and arabinogalactans) to produce one molecule of L-arabinose. This enzyme plays an important role in hemicellulose degradation and the ripening and softening process of fruits.

α-L-Af decomposes p-nitrophenyl-α-L-arabinofuranoside to generate p-nitrophenol, which has a maximum absorption peak at 400 nm. The activity of α-L-Af can be calculated by measuring the change in absorbance at 400 nm.
