KF Streptococcus agar is a solid medium for selective separation and enumeration of fecal streptococcus. Its basic components include peptone and yeast extract powder, and sodium azide is added as a key selective inhibitor, which can effectively inhibit gram-negative bacteria and most non-target gram-positive bacteria. The culture medium contains triphenyltetrazole chloride (TTC) as an indicator, and Streptococcus faecalis can reduce TTC to make the colony appear red or pink. This culture medium is suitable for the detection of streptococcus faecalis in water quality, food and environmental samples, and is a common tool for hygienic microbiology inspection
