Isocitrate Dehydrogenase Mitochondrial (ICDHm) Assay Kit
Isocitrate Dehydrogenase Mitochondrial (ICDHm) Assay Kit
Mitochondrial Isocitrate Dehydrogenase (ICDHm, EC 1.1.1.41) is widely present in the mitochondria of animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells. In the tricarboxylic acid cycle, it catalyzes the conversion of isocitrate to α-ketoglutarate while reducing nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (oxidized form, NAD⁺) to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (reduced form, NADH). It is one of the rate-limiting enzymes of the tricarboxylic acid cycle, and the reaction it catalyzes is one of the main sources of cellular NADH. ICDHm catalyzes the reduction of NAD⁺ to generate NADH, which leads to an increase in light absorption at 340 nm. The activity of ICDHm can be determined by measuring the rate of this absorbance increase.
