SS/-Trp with Agar

SS/-Trp medium is the same as the SD-type medium except that glucose is replaced by sucrose. Besides the different carbon source, other are the same as the SD-type medium. SS/-Trp solid medium is the SS/-Trp medium with the addition of agar powder. The components include YNBwithout amino acids and with ammonium sulfate), sucrose, agar powder, and 17 kinds of amino acids and nucleotide molecules. YNB (ye nitrogen base) provides growth factors and inorganic salts for yeast growth, ammonium sulfate is used as an inorganic nitrogen source, and sucrose is used as a fermentation carbon. SS/-Trp with Agar is a mixture of YNB, DO Supplement-Trp, sucrose, and agar powder, which uses the Trp defect in Supplement-Trp to screen strains that can express this component or to activate the relevant reporter gene.
