Pichia Pastoris Expression Kit

The Pichia pastoris expression kit utilizes the promoter from the Pichia pastoris alcohol oxidase 1 (AOX1) gene to initiate production. Pichia pastoris is able to grow with methanol as the sole carbon source. When grown on methanol as the sole carbon source, AOX1 mRNA can up to 5% of the total mRNA, while the AOX1 enzyme can make up to 30% of the cell weight. The kit contains Pichia pastor strain, expression vector, and a kit to transform Pichia pastoris cells, which can be easily screened for high-copy number transformants by using the G418 for selection.
