Pichia Pastoris Expression Kit (without vectors and strains)

The Pichia pastoris expression kit uses the promoter from the Pichia pastoris alcohol oxidase 1 (AOX1) gene to initiate production. Pichia pastoris is able to grow with methanol as the sole carbon source. When grown on methanol as the sole carbon source, AOX1 mRNA can up to 5% of the total mRNA, while the AOX1 enzyme can make up to 30% of the cell weight. The kit contains all reagents except Pichia pastoris strain and the expression vector, and high-copy transformants can be easily screened using the antibiotic G418.
