The core function of the Pichia pastoris selective medium is to select transformants containing the target plasmid and to distinguish between Mut (methanol-utilizing fast) and MutS (methanol-utilizing slow) strains. It is mainly divided into two categories: basic selective media and phenotypic selective media.
