Yeast SG medium (Synthetic Dextrose Minimal Medium/ SG Minimal Medium/ SG-Dropout Medium), also known as basic medium or brewer's yeast nutritional defective screening medium, is widely used in yeast interrelation and yeast ion tolerance, function complementation and various wild-type yeasts, some mutant yeasts for identification, screening and culture experiments. The components of yeast SG medium include YNB (containing ammonium sulfate, without amino acids), galactose 17 kinds of amino acids and nucleotide molecules. YNB (yeast nitrogen base) provides growth factors and inorganic salts for yeast growth, and ammonium sulf is used as an inorganic nitrogen source, and galactose is used as an inducer. SG/-Ade/-Trp/-Ura Broth is mixture of Minimal SG Base and DO Supplement-Ade/-Trp/-Ura, which uses the Ade, Trp, and Ura defects in DO SupplementAde/-Trp/-Ura to screen strains that can express this component or to activate relevant reporter genes.
