pMV261 is a commonly used expression vector for actinomycetes such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It contains a strong hsp60 promoter for efficient expression of foreign genes, carries a kanamycin resistance gene for selection, can stably replicate in the host, and is suitable for studying gene function in mycobacteria and for recombinant protein expression.
