pBT2 Vector

pBT2 is an Escherichia coli-Staphylococcus aureus shuttle vector, which is low-copy and temperature-sensitive. It confers ampicillin resistance in E. coli and chloramphenicol resistance in S. aureus, contains a temperature-sensitive replicon, and can achieve gene knockout in Gram-positive bacteria through homologous recombination. It is suitable for studying Staphylococcus gene functions, such as constructing mutants to analyze biofilm formation, but multiple rounds of screening are required.
