An assay kit designed for studying the function of yeast hexose (glucose, fructose, etc.) transporters, based on the principles of yeast heterologous complementation and growth phenotype verification. It includes core hexose transport-deficient Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains (e.g., EBY.VW4000), pDR196 high-efficiency expression vectors, and supporting medium reagents. The deficient strain lacks all endogenous hexose transporters, cannot absorb hexoses independently, and can only grow on maltose medium. After transforming the target transporter gene into the strain, active proteins can mediate hexose uptake, enabling the strain to grow normally on medium with hexose as the sole carbon source. It specifically eliminates non-hexose interference and is suitable for hexose transporter function verification, metabolic gene screening, and transport mechanism research.
