Yeast Iron Salt Efflux Assay Kit

It is specially designed for the functional screening and verification of iron transporters based on the yeast heterologous complementation principle. It contains iron-def yeast strains△CCC1, expression vectors and normal concentration/high concentration iron medium. The defective strain△CCC1 is unable to transport iron (Fe²⁺) andanganese (Mn²⁺) ions from the cytoplasm and store them in the vacuole due to the deletion of endogenous iron transport-related genes.△ccc1 mutant shows an imbalance in the homeostasis of iron ions in the cell, especially a decrease in the vacuolar iron storage capacity, and may affect the utilization iron in organelles such as mitochondria. Growth is restricted in an environment with high iron concentration. After the target iron transporter gene is transformed into the strain, the protein can mediate iron transport and uptake, allowing the strain to grow normally in high-concentration iron medium.
