SM/-Ura with Agar

SM/-Ura medium is the same as SD medium except that glucose is replaced by maltose. Besides the different carbon source, other components are same as SD medium. The SM/-Ura solid medium is the SM/-Ura medium with the addition of agar powder. The components include YNB (without amino acids with ammonium sulfate), maltose, agar powder, and 17 kinds of amino acids and nucleotide molecules. YNB (yeast nitrogen base provides growth factors and inorganic salts for yeast growth, ammonium sulfate is used as an inorganic nitrogen source, and maltose is used as a fermentation carbon source./-Ura with Agar is a mixture of YNB, DO Supplement-Ura, maltose, and agar powder, which uses the Ura defect in DO-Ura to screen strains that can express this component or to activate the relevant reporter gene.
