BMMH Medium (for Pichia pastoris)
BMMH Medium (for Pichia pastoris)
It is a buffered minimal methanol medium containing histidine, with core components including yeast nitrogen base (YNB), biotin, potassium phosphate buffer (pH 6.0), methanol and histidine. Methanol acts as an inducer to drive the AOX1 promoter for exogenous protein expression, the buffer system stabilizes pH to reduce target protein degradation, and histidine meets the nutritional needs of His4-deficient strains such as GS115 and KM71. Compatible with vectors like pPIC9 and pPIC9K, it is specially used for the methanol induction stage in the scale-up of protein expression, especially suitable for the expression of protease-sensitive recombinant proteins.
