Glycerol serves as a carbon source for energy supply without acid production during fermentation, and the buffer system stabilizes pH to avoid environmental fluctuations during cell growth or subsequent induction. Compatible with various Pichia pastoris strains, it is used for cell expansion of recombinant strains before induced expression, laying a foundation for high-density culture.
