BMGY Medium (for Pichia pastoris)

It is a buffered complex medium containing yeast extract, peptone, yeast nitrogen base, biotin, potassium phosphate buffer and glycerol. Glycerol provides carbon source and energy without acid production during fermentation, and the buffer system can control pH, reduce protease activity and avoid target protein degradation. It is mainly used for cell enrichment of recombinant Pichia pastoris before induced expression, and is compatible with common vectors containing AOX1 promoter.
