3-phosphoglycerate kinase is a key enzyme in glycolysis, widely present in animals, plants, and microorganisms. It catalyzes the conversion of 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate, producing one molecule of ATP and influencing biological functions such as DNA replication and repair, as well as stimulating viral RNA synthesis. It is widely used in drug target design. 3-phosphoglycerate kinase catalyzes the reaction of 3-phosphoglycerate and ATP to produce 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate and ADP. 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate, under the action of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and NADH, produces glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate, NAD, and phosphate. The change in absorbance at 340 nm reflects the activity level of 3-phosphoglycerate kinase.
