Pyruvate Phosphate Dikinase(PPDK) Assay Kit
Pyruvate Phosphate Dikinase(PPDK) Assay Kit
Pyruvate phosphate dikinase (PPDK, EC 2.7.9.1) is a rate-limiting enzyme in the C4 pathway and the crassulacean acid metabolism pathway, catalyzing the conversion of ATP, pyruvate, and Pi into phosphoenolpyruvate through a three-step reaction. This enzyme is primarily found in the chloroplast stroma of C4 plants and plays an important regulatory role in photosynthetic function. The reverse reaction catalyzed by PPDK involves the conversion of phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP), AMP, and PPi into pyruvate, ATP, and Pi, while lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) further catalyzes the conversion of pyruvate and NADH into lactate and NAD. The rate of NADH reduction is measured at 340 nm, from which PPDK activity can be calculated.
