Glutathione Reductases(GR) Assay Kit

TrxR is a dimeric selenoenzyme that contains an FAD domain and is dependent on NADPH, belonging to the family of pyridine nucleotide-disulfide oxidoreductases. It forms the thioredoxin system along with thioredoxin and NADPH. TrxR has activity similar to that of GR, catalyzing the reduction of GSSG to generate GSH, and is one of the key enzymes in the glutathione redox cycle. TrxR catalyzes the reduction of DTNB by NADPH to produce TNB and NADP, with TNB having a characteristic absorption peak at 412 nm. By measuring the rate of increase of TNB at this wavelength, the activity of TrxR can be calculat.
