γ-glutamyl Transpeptidase(γ-GT) Assay Kit

γ-GT is a key enzyme in the γ-glutamyl cycle that catalyzes the degradation of GSH. γ-GT catalyzes the transfer of the γ-glutamyl group from GSH or other γ-glutamyl compounds to a receptor. It can also catalyze the hydrolysis of GSH and other γ-glutamyl compounds, producing glutamate, which plays an important role in the extracellular metabolism of glutathione. γ-GT catalyzes the transfer of the γ-glutamyl group from γ-glutamyl-p-nitroaniline to N-glycylglycine, generating p-nitroaniline, which exhibits characteristic light absorption at 405 nm; the increase in light absorption at 405 nm is used to calculate γ-GT enzyme activity.
