Ascorbic acid (AsA) is an important nutrient element in the metabolic process of organisms, among which dehydroascorbic acid (DHA), as the reversible oxidized form of ascorbic acid, can form a redox system together with ascorbic acid, acting as an electron acceptor, closely related to cell division and differentiation, plant flowering time, and responses to environmental stress. Dithiothreitol (DTT) can reduce dehydroascorbic acid back to ascorbic acid, which has a characteristic absorption peak at 265 nm, allowing the quantification of dehydroascorbic acid content by measuring its formation rate.
