Selectively improved NPNL medium is a solid medium for selective separation of Cronobacillus in food. Its basic components are peptone and yeast extract powder, and the key selective inhibitors are vancomycin and cefpirome, which can effectively inhibit gram-positive bacteria and most gram-negative miscellaneous bacteria. The culture medium contains α -glucosidase substrate, which is secreted by Cronobacillus to decompose the substrate and produce a color reaction, which makes the colony appear characteristic blue-green. The culture medium can achieve efficient separation and preliminary identification of target bacteria through high selective inhibition and specific color development, and is widely used for pathogen monitoring of infant formula milk powder and other samples.
