Hg2+ is an important toxic heavy metal ion in water bodies, easily absorbed and accumulated by organisms, and can be further transmitted through the food chain, causing harm. A typical example of mercury poisoning is Minamata disease. After digestion, in an acidic environment, Hg2+ can form an orange complex with dithizone, dissolving in chloroform, and measuring the absorbance at 490 nm allows for the calculation of the Hg2+ content.
