H2S Content Assay Kit

H2S is a novel gaseous signaling molecule that exists as a neurotransmitter in the brain. At physiological concentrations, H2S plays an important regulatory role in the long-term potentiation function of the hippocampus in the nervous system and has significant pathophysiological effects on diseases such as spontaneous hypertension, hemorrhagic shock, and liver cirrhosis. H2S reacts with zinc acetate, N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine, and ammonium iron sulfate to produce methylene blue, which has a maximum absorption peak at 665 nm. By measuring its absorbance, the H2S content can be calculated.
