DH10Bac

DH10Bac is a homologous recombinant Escherichia coli strain commonly used in Bac-to-Bac system of insect baculovirus. The strain contains baculovirus shuttle vector bmon14272 (commonly known as bacmid, which contains a mini-attTn7 recombination site necessary for transpositional reaction) and an auxiliary plasmid pMON7124 (used to express transposable proteins needed for transpositional reaction). DH10Bac is mainly used as a host strain transformed by similar vectors such as pFastBac. When the recombinant plasmid of pFastBac is transformed into DH10Bac cells, there is a transposition between the mini-Tn7 site on pFastBac vector and the mini-attTn7 site on bacmid in the host strain of DH10Bac, resulting in recombinant bacmid.
