Y187 strain is a single-heterozygous and double-heterozygous experimental strain of GAL4 system, MATα type, which can directly transform plasmid or carry out screening library test with MATa yeast strains (Y2HGold, AH109, etc.) by mating operation. Transformation marker is trp1, leu2, and reporter gene is lacZ, MEL1. Y187 has two reporter genes: lacZ and MEL1, which are initiated by two different promoters (G1 and M1). Only the 17bp core recognized by GAL4 is the same between these two promoters, and the rest are different, which greatly reduces the number of promoters.Probability of false positive of yeast double heterozygosity.
