Y2HGold strain is a strain of GAL4 yeast hybrid experiment, MATa type, which can directly transform plasmid or carry out protein interaction verification or screening library test with MATα yeast strain Y187 through mating operation. Y2HGold has four reporter genes: AbAr, HIS3, ADE2, and MEL1, which are initiated by three different promoters (G1, G2, and M1). These three promoters are only the same as the 17 bp core recognized by GAL4, and the rest are different, which greatly reduces the probability of false positives in yeast. In addition, the new reporter gene AbAr has the advantage of lower background compared with the previous nutritional deficiency reporter gene, and can also reduce the false positive of yeast double heterozygosity.
