EGY194 is a strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae commonly used in yeast two-hybrid system. Its genotype contains multiple auxotrophic markers (such as trp1, leu2, etc.), which is convenient for screening positive interactions through complementation. This strain has integrated the reporter gene driven by GAL4 promoter (such as LacZ), which can be used to detect protein interaction. EGY194 competent cells were made by special technology, and the transformation efficiency of pGBKT7 plasmid was more than 10 cfu/μ g DNA. This strain is suitable for direct transformation of plasmid for interaction verification, and is widely used in protein interaction research.
