GV3101(PSoup)
GV3101(PSoup)
GV3101(pSoup) is an Agrobacterium tumefaciens engineering strain widely used in plant transgenic research. The background of C58 chromosome has rifampin resistance (rifR). The auxiliary Ti plasmid pMP90(pTiC58DT-DNA) carried by this strain lacks its own T-DNA transfer function, but retains the intact vir gene, which can help the T-DNA of binary vector to be efficiently integrated into the plant genome and endow the strain with gentamicin resistance (gentR). In addition, the pSoup auxiliary plasmid contained in it can support the replication of specific vectors such as pGreen and pGs2 in Agrobacterium, and provide tetRcycline resistance (tetra) for the strain. Therefore, GV3101(pSoup) is especially suitable for genetic transformation experiments of Arabidopsis thaliana, tobacco, corn and potato.
