Pink4
Pink4
PichiaPink-4 is Pichia pastoris Pink strain, belonging to eukaryotic cells. General antibiotics for prokaryotes, such as kana and ampicillin, are ineffective for yeast, so in order to prevent prokaryotes such as Escherichia coli from polluting yeast culture strains, some antibiotics such as ampicillin and kanamycin are often added to the culture medium to inhibit the pollution and growth of bacteria. The suitable growth temperature of PichiaPink-4 yeast is 24-30℃, and the temperature exceeding 32℃ is a devastating disaster for protein expression in cells, which may lead to cell death. ADE2 gene encodes phosphoribosylamide imidazole carboxylase gene, which can catalyze the sixth step of purine nucleotide synthesis. In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Pichia pastoris, or other yeasts, the mutation or deletion of this gene can lead to the accumulation of purine precursors in yeast intracellular fluid vesicles, making cells appear pink.
