Y190

Y190 is a Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain used in yeast two-hybrid system. Its genotype is MATa, and it carries many auxotrophic markers (such as his3, trp1, leu2). The strain integrates HIS3 and lacZ reporter genes regulated by GAL4 upstream activation sequence, and can grow on the medium lacking histidine or detect β -galactosidase activity, thus screening protein interaction with high sensitivity. Y190 is suitable for library screening and direct interaction verification experiments.
