DHM1
DHM1
DHM1 is a derivative strain of Escherichia coli K-12, which is mainly used to study the DNA mismatch repair system. Its key feature is that the main methyl-directed repair proteins MutS and MutL are deleted at the same time, which leads to a very high spontaneous mutation rate of the strain. This defect makes it impossible to correct DNA replication errors effectively, and it is often used in mutation research, mutation frequency determination and as a mutagen in the detection environment of ultra-sensitive hosts. This strain is an important tool for the study of DNA repair mechanism.
