△ycf1 Chemically Competent Cell
The ∆ycf1 strain is derived from the BY4741 yeast strain, which has a mutation in the endogenous YCF1 gene, resulting in ∆ycf1. YCF1 (Yeast Cadmium Factor 1) can chelate heavy metals and glutathione into the vacuole to combat cellular stress reactions, and it is widely involved in the absorption and transport processes of various heavy metals (such as arsenic, cadmium, mercury, copper, manganese, zinc, etc.). The ∆ycf1 strain is commonly used to study the functions of various heavy metal-related genes. The selection markers are: leu2, ura3, and his3, which can be used in conjunction with the inducible plasmids pYES2, pESC-HIS/LEU/URA, or the constitutive expression plasmid pGADT7. The ∆ycf1 competent cells are produced using a special process and can be stored at -80°C for 12 months. The pYES2 plasmid (5857bp, AmpR) shows a transformation efficiency of > 104 cfu/μg DNA.
