Rosetta(DE3)

Rosetta(DE3) strain has chloramphenicol resistance, which supplements the tRNA corresponding to six rare codons (AUA, AGG,AGA, CUA, CCC, GGA) lacking in E.coli, and improves the expression level of foreign genes, especially eukaryotic genes in prokaryotic system. The chromosome of this strain integrates the DE3 region of λ phage (which contains T7 phage RNA polymerase). Simultaneous expression of T7 RNA polymerase and Escherichia coli RNA polymerase can be used for protein expression of pET series, pGEX, pMAL and other plasmids.
