Ar.A4 is an Agrobacterium rhizogenes strain, which is widely used in plant genetic transformation research. Its core feature is that it contains natural agroalkaline Ri plasmid, which can induce many dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous plants (such as corn, tobacco, carrot, etc.) to produce hairy roots. The strain has kanamycin resistance, but it is sensitive to carbenicillin and streptomycin. The transformation efficiency of competent cells (including chemical method and electrotransformation method) prepared by this method is high, and it is suitable for experiments such as transgenic plant construction and large plasmid transformation.
