X33 Chemically Competent Cell
X33 Chemically Competent Cell
![]() X33 is a strain of Pichia pastoris, which belongs to eukaryotic cells. Common antibiotics targeting prokaryotic organisms such as kanamycin and ampicillin are ineffective against yeast; therefore, to prevent contamination of yeast cultures by prokaryotic organisms like Escherichia coli, it is common to add some ampicillin and kanamycin antibiotics to the culture medium to inhibit bacterial contamination and growth. The optimal growth temperature for Pichia pastoris is 28-30°C, and temperatures exceeding 32°C are harmful to protein expression and may lead to cell death. X33 Pichia pastoris can grow in YPD medium.X33 Pichia pastoris is recommended for expressing vectors containing Zeocin resistance, such as pPICZ A, B, C series vectors. During the selection of X33 recombinant transformants, the working concentration of Zeocin antibiotic is 100ug/ml. X33 Pichia pastoris contains the AOX1 gene, and the resulting transformants have the Mut genotype.
