EGY48(p8op-lacz)

EGY48(p8op-lacz) is a reporter strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae used in yeast two-hybrid system. Its genotype is MATα, which carries multiple auxotrophic markers. The strain has integrated LEU2 reporter gene regulated by LexA operator, and contains p8op-lacZ plasmid to provide LacZ reporter gene. When bait protein interacts with prey protein, the expression of reporter gene can be activated, and the protein interaction can be verified by nutritional defect screening and β -galactosidase activity detection.
