MC1061F- is a derivative engineering strain of E.coli K-12, which is derived from E. coli B/r strain SB3118 and is also the female parent of commonly used cloned strains such as DH10b and TOP10. The transformation efficiency of competent cells is very high, which is suitable for conventional plasmid construction. It should be noted that this strain lacks F' factor, so it can't be used to infect filamentous phage (such as M13), and it doesn't contain nuclease endA1 mutation. When extracting plasmid, the nuclease should be completely removed to prevent degradation.
