TG1

TG1 is a derivative strain of Escherichia coli K-12, and its genotype is supethi-1δ (Lac-Proab) δ (MCRB-HSDSM) 5 (Rk-MK-) [F 'trad36Proablaciqz δ M15]. The strain carries F' plasmid, supports filamentous phage (such as M13) infection, and is suitable for phage display technology. SupE mutation allows amber terminator to be inhibited, which is beneficial to the expression of some proteins. TG1 is a classic host for molecular cloning and preparation of single-stranded DNA.
