THY.AP4
THY.AP4
THY.AP4 is an engineering strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae for xylose fermentation. Through genetic engineering, the strain introduced key genes of xylose metabolism pathway (such as xylose reductase XR, xylitol dehydrogenase XDH, etc.), which enabled it to use xylose as carbon source. Ura3 auxotrophic marker is convenient for genetic manipulation and transformant screening. THY.AP4 is mainly used to study the efficient ethanol conversion of xylose in lignocellulosic biomass, and it is a commonly used model strain in the field of biofuel research.
