△BOR1

△BOR1 is a genetically engineered strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae used to study the tolerance and transport mechanism of boron. The strain deleted BOR1 gene by gene knockout technology, which encoded a boron efflux protein located in the plasma membrane. Studies have shown that, compared with wild-type strains, the △BOR1 mutant will increase the accumulation of boron in cells due to the loss of boron efflux ability, and show higher sensitivity to boron toxicity in the environment. Therefore, this strain is an important tool model to study the molecular mechanism of boron tolerance in plants and yeast and the steady-state regulation of cellular ions.
