△Ctr1

△Ctr1 is a genetically engineered strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae used to study copper ion homeostasis. The strain deleted CTR1 gene by gene knockout technology, which encoded a high affinity copper ion transporter located in the plasma membrane. Its deletion leads to a significant decline in the ability of yeast cells to absorb copper ions from the environment, so their growth is limited under the condition of low copper. This strain is a common model for studying copper metabolism, oxidative stress and related human diseases.
