H1246
H1246
H1246 is a mutant strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae with triacylglycerol synthesis defect. Four key neutral lipid synthesis genes (DGA1, LRO1, ARE1, ARE2) were deleted by gene knockout technology, which completely lost its ability to synthesize and store triacylglycerol. Therefore, H1246 itself cannot form lipid droplets in cells. This strain is mainly used in the study of lipid metabolism. By introducing exogenous acyltransferase gene (such as DGAT) for functional complementation experiment, its enzyme activity and function are verified, and it is an ideal tool model for studying oil synthesis and related gene functions.
