△TSP1 TSP2
△TSP1 TSP2
△TSP1 TSP2 is an engineering strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae with double gene deletion, which was constructed by simultaneously knocking out TSP1 and TSP2 genes. These two genes encode two different mitochondrial 3 '→ 5' RNA exonuclease, which are partially redundant in mitochondrial RNA degradation. Double deletion leads to serious defects in mitochondrial RNA metabolism and abnormal increase in the stability of specific transcripts, which affects the expression and function of mitochondrial genes. This strain is mainly used to study the degradation pathway of mitochondrial RNA, quality control mechanism and its regulation on energy metabolism.
