Δynt-leu Hanson yeast strain
Δynt-leu Hanson yeast strain
Δynt-leu is a genetically engineered strain of “Ogataea polymorpha”, a polymorphic yeast. Its key characteristics include the deletion of the nitrate transport gene (YNT) and a leucine auxotrophic marker (leu). The deletion of YNT impairs nitrate uptake, while the leucine auxotrophy serves as a selectable marker for genetic transformation. This strain is used to study nucleotide metabolism and is commonly employed as a host for expressing exogenous genes through leucine complementation screening.
