△dal4 (黄嘌呤缺陷型)
△dal4 is a genetically engineered strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae used to study purine catabolism (allantoin pathway) and nitrogen source utilization. DAL4 gene was deleted by gene knockout technology, which encodes allantoin permease, and is responsible for transporting allantoin in the environment into cells. The absence of allantoin leads to the inability of yeast cells to effectively take up allantoin as nitrogen source, so the growth on the medium with allantoin as the only nitrogen source is seriously limited. This strain is mainly used to study the molecular mechanism of purine catabolism, the perception and utilization of nitrogen sources, and to identify foreign proteins with allantoin transport function in other species (such as plants) through functional complementary experiments.
