Helicobacter pylori culture medium (liquid)

Helicobacter pylori culture medium (liquid) is a liquid culture medium for selective enrichment of Helicobacter pylori. Its basic components are brain heart infusion and peptone, and the key additives are sheep blood or horse serum to provide necessary growth factors. Selective additives include vancomycin, amphotericin B and trimethoprim. This culture medium supports the proliferation of Helicobacter pylori under micro-aerobic conditions, and shows urease activity by phenol red indicator (the culture medium turns red). It is a standard tool for rapid detection and amplification of Helicobacter pylori in clinical gastric mucosa specimens and cultures.
