Thermoproteus culture medium is a special culture medium for the separation and culture of extremely thermophilic archaea. Its basic components are sulfide and minerals, and the key additives provide basic nutrition for yeast extract and peptone. The culture medium supports the growth and sulfur metabolism of hyperthermophilic archaea such as Thermoproteobacteria under high temperature (80-105℃) and anaerobic conditions, and is a special tool for microbial research in high temperature environment such as deep-sea hydrothermal vents.
