AE medium

AE medium is a solid medium for selective separation of Aeromonas. Its basic components are peptone and yeast extract powder, and its key additives are ampicillin and bromothymol blue indicator. This culture medium can inhibit miscellaneous bacteria by antibiotics, and Aeromonas ferments sucrose to produce acid, which makes the periphery of the colony yellow and realizes rapid identification. It is a standard tool for the detection of pathogenic Aeromonas in aquatic products and clinical samples.
