Clostridium listeri culture medium

Clostridium listeri medium is a liquid medium for selective isolation of Clostridium listeri. The basic ingredients are peptone and beef extract powder, and the key additives are aescin and ammonium ferric citrate. This culture medium can promote the growth of Clostridium listeri under anaerobic conditions, and it can hydrolyze aescin to produce black precipitate. At the same time, it can inhibit miscellaneous bacteria by using specific antibiotics. It is a standard tool for the detection of Clostridium listeri in food and clinical samples.
